During my most recent visit in the first week of November 2024, some of the famous ginkgo trees had already started losing their leaves. Even so, the island was still incredibly beautiful, with plenty of golden and red foliage remaining throughout the walking paths. Arrive before 9 AM if possible. During my visit, I took the first ferry of the day and was able to enjoy many of the island’s most famous photo spots before the crowds arrived. The quieter atmosphere made a noticeable difference, especially along the tree-lined roads.
I ended up spending almost an entire day on the island. Beyond walking the main paths, I rode the Story Tour Bus, took the charity train, relaxed by the riverside, and explored several areas multiple times. Many visitors only stay a few hours, but Nami Island can easily fill a full day if you enjoy photography, leisurely walks, and scenic cafes.
